Project history
2009 - Publication of the new online-database along with information for data providers, users, general public and media. Revision of the "Red List of Threatened Fungi in Austria" based on the total data set.
2008 - Development of the completely updated open-access online-database with integrated interactive distribution maps with several data summaries as well as an overview of the as yet included data sources. Presentation of the database at several meetings.
2007 - Entry of new observation data and published records.
2006 - Preparation of numerous reports and publications on the Austrian mycoflora based on the database (e.g. regarding specific genera, species or geographic units). Presentation of the database at diverse occasions.
2005 - Installation und implementation of the "BioOffice"-database for several project collaborators.
2004 - Aquisition and technical adaptation of the database program "BioOffice" for the fungal database. Import of the total data set existing. Testing phase. Construction of a project homepage with integrated online-database (accessible for data providers and institutions after special registration).
2003 - Development of a concept for a comprehensive fungal database (data structure, data standards).
2000 - Diverse ideas and initiatives for a comprehensive and nationwide project for the documentation of the Austrian fungi on a broad basis (establishing contacts to possible voluntary collaborators, compilation and comprehension of existing data sources).
1980 - Start of regular excursions for fungal recording by the ÖMG and consistent registration of collecting data.
