Data owner rights

A written agreement will be signed between data providers reporting a noteworthy number of unpublished observations and the ÖMG concerning data use. The agreement contains i.a. the following important points (partly, for the whole text see documents).

a) The data provider is all the time fully authorised to use his data, he is and will always remain the owner of his data. The data provider declares that his data are legitimate (i.e. not illegitimately taken from other sources). He may retrieve his data from the distribution database or receive them digitised or printed from the ÖMG for his personal use.

b) The data of the data provider may be used by the ÖMG in publications, which are edited by or in charge of the society and which document in summary (species lists, distribution maps, etc.) the mycoflora of Austria, of Austrian provinces or of special regions or sites (e.g. nature reserves) including electronical publication (internet).

c) The data of the data provider may be forwarded to public authorities, e.g. of nature protection, which are allowed to use the data exclusively internally for official nature protection purposes (e.g. certificates, expert reports).

d) Prior to a different use or transmission to third parties interested in these data, the data provider must be informed. He is authorised to refuse his approval.

e) The ÖMG is not obliged to include the data of a data provider in publications or transmissions to public authorities. This applies especially for insufficient or implausible data.
